Why there is a need for applying sunscreen

We know ultraviolet rays (UV rays) reaches earth from sun, whether or not it is a cloudy day. We get exposed to UV rays. The UV rays are not visible to naked eye and are divided into three types of rays; UVA, UVB and UVC. The UVC rays get deflected by ozone layer, clouds etc and do not reach earth. However the other two types of rays UVA and UVB penetrate the earth’s atmosphere and play an important role in skin conditions such as premature skin aging, eye damage including cataracts, skin cancer, suntan, sun burn etc. UVA rays amout to 95% of all UV rays and rest is UVB. UVA is known to cause skin premature aging and skin wrinkling. UVA is also known as tanning ray. Whether one is sitting in a salon or sitting outdoor or on a beach, UVA caused cumulative damage to skin over time. A tan results from injury to skin’s DNA. The skin darkens in an imperfect attempt to prevent further damage to DNA and may lead to skin cancer. Source-Google

UVB on the other hand causes skin reddening and skin burns year around. It plays a key role in causing skin cancer, attacking the skin’s superficial epidermal layer.

So protect yourself from sun’s ultraviolet rays by using Littles Skin Care’s minerals based sunscreens. There are so many sunscreens on the market. Most sunscreens out there contain synthetic chemical blockers (sunscreen chemicals) such as Oxybenzone, Octocrylene, Octisalate, Octinoxate, Avobenzone which may absorbed in the skin. Further, Oxybenzone and Octonoxate containing sunscreens have been banned in the state of Hawaii, Florida keys etc. The sunscreens containing one or all the above chemicals not only suffocates while applying but will irritate eyes when sweating. Sunscreens have to be reapplied every two hours while sitting in sun because it washes off from sweat.

REMEMBER TWO LETTERS A & B WHEN IT COMES TO UNDERSTANDING UVA AND UVB. A is for aging (premature aging in this case) and B stands for burning (skin gets red or burns)

Meaning of the SPF number.

SPF stands for sun protection factor. It simply means how long the sun’s UV radiation would take to redden (burn) your skin when covering all exposed skin as directed versus the amount of time without any sunscreen protection. So ideally, with littles skin care Inc, minerals based sunscreens, SPF 21 or 27, it would take 21 or 27 times longer to burn your skin than if not wearing any sunscreen and are safe to use.
